The Veterans in Piping (VIP) Program offers free, high-quality skills training and guarantees careers in the pipe trades to active-duty military service members who are preparing to transition out of the armed forces. The VIP Program provides 18-weeks of highly specialized and highly intensive training help transitioning service members gain marketable skills in the following pipe trades: welding, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR), plumbing and pipefitting.
Upon successful completion of the VIP Program, graduates have the opportunity to enter into the United Association apprenticeship program. They are guaranteed job placement – all in an agreed upon geographic location. These jobs with UA signatory contractors provide UA VIP graduates with good paying jobs, healthcare and retirement benefits. As an apprentice, UA VIP graduates earn free college credits while in the apprenticeship that can later be used to earn a college degree.
