I will be starting my 16th year this August as an instructor at the Dallas Joint Apprenticeship Program. I started teaching in 2003. I have taught many other classes in the past pertaining to our trade. I, myself, have been in the trade for 25 years. I currently work at Brandt Companies as Mechanical Labor Support.

I began in the trades in January 1997, but I have been teaching since 2013. Some notable projects I have worked on during my career are Emerson in McKinney, Dallas Cowboy Stadium club and UT Southwest Medical Center.

I started teaching in 1977, so I have been doing this for 41 years, but I began in the trades in 1972. I have earned 2 Associate Degrees from Washtenaw Community College. Currently, I am the President of the Local and have served on the E-Board and the Finance Committee. Some notable projects I have worked on are at Natkin Service Co. as a service Tech and later as a Service Manager. I worked at York International as a Service Manager and Service Sales, Johnson Controls bought out York, where I work as Chiller Team Manager. I also worked with SWPT as an Organizer for 6 years.

I currently teach welding. I began teaching in 2011, but I started in the trade in 1984. One of my most memorable projects was working on a powerhouse in Kansas City when the 9/11 attacks occurred. My working partner had just returned to the top of the structure from the ground and told me about the attacks. I remember looking in the sky to see where a jet had made a perfect u-turn to go back to the airport.

My name is James, but I go by “Bubba.” I started in the trades in 1972 and began teaching in 1980. I have worked on the Baylor Hospital, Plano East High School, Chaparral Steel Mill, Texas Instruments, Bell Telephone (ATT), Fountain Place and Brandt Fab Shop.

I started in the trades in 2003, but began teaching in 2008. Some notable jobs that I have worked on are Texas Children’s Hospital-Women’s Pavilion & NRI, Methodist Hospital-TMC, Memorial Herman-Katy Hospital, MD Anderson-Zayed, Houston Dynamo Stadium (BBVA Compass) and U of H Cougar Stadium. (TDECU). I was born in Corpus Christi and began my career in the trades with Local 68 in Houston. I am a third generation plumber.

I began my career in the trades in 1978 and started teaching in 1991. During my time, I have worked on some notable projects such as the chiller replacement in the penthouse of One Main Place, a boiler replacement at Presbyterian Village North and chiller start-up and commissioning for the Dallas Independent School District.

I have 20 years of experience and got my associates of applied science in HVACR. I currently am a Commissioning Manager with Brandt.

I have been a instructor for 25 years and the course I teach, I feel are an important part of our trade. Copper pipe is used on 99 percent of all of our work. I have been with Local 100 since I graduated high school in 1980 and got my plumbing license in 1984. I have made a good living starting out as a Journeymen, but then became a foreman and now a General Superintendent. With the class I teach, soldering and brazing, it involves learning isometric drawing, the correct way to measure, the proper way to do takeoffs, and also learning safety precautions.

I started working in the pipe trades in 2002 and began teaching seven year later. I’ve worked on three different children’s medical centers, the University of North Texas Student Union, the TARO Airplane Plant in Red Oak and Ventana, where I installed a new system to large construction called VRF using Zoom Lock fittings and technology. I believe in our school and the training that we give to our students. This extra knowledge separates our level of production and quality from non-union construction workers who receive far less workforce training.

I began my career in the building trades in 1981. Since then, I have since worked on many projects in my career including new high-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, churches, manufacturing facilities, military installations to name a few. The piping trades even took me overseas in the south Pacific Islands for 4 years. I have 25 years working and supervising field work. I have worked the last 13 years as an Estimator and Project Manager. I started teaching the piping trades in 2005 to give back to this industry that has given so much to me. I am starting my 14 th year as an instructor this fall. I graduated from the United Association Instructor Training Program in 2013 and earned an Associate Degree in Industrial Training. I am proud to be a UA Tradesman and UA Instructor.

I’ve been teaching since August 2014, but started my trades career about six years earlier. Some of the notable projects I have worked on include University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) Phase 5, UTSW thermal energy plant, SMU dorms, The University of Texas at Dallas bio-engineering and science building, University of Texas at Arlington science and engineering innovation and research building.

My name is Lance Pope. I carry a plumbing license even though I turned out of apprentice school in 1997 as a pipefitter. I have worked on projects in just about every Texas Instrument building including North, South, DMOSS 4, 5, 6 and a lot of time at R-fab. I have also traveled to Phoenix and Salt Lake, where I worked at Lockheed Martin.

I started in the pipe trades in 2008 as a start-up technician for Johnson Controls and began teaching in 2014. I have experience performing start-up work at many different projects including the Irving Music Factory, DFW International Airport, the hospital across from the Cowboys practice facility and many other buildings.

I have been in the HVAC industry for 35 years, with the last 20 of those being in Building Automation Systems as a Trane Building Automation Specialist. The last 10 years in automation commissioning of all major control systems to include JCI, Trane, Siemens, Tridium Niagara and many more. I am LEED AP, NEBB CxCT, Niagara AX and N4 certified.
